Herbal remedies are an important component of Chinese medical practice and are often used in combination with acupuncture to achieve optimal results. Chinese herbs have been used for more than 5,000 years to alleviate a wide range of conditions, including allergies, arthritis, digestive conditions, hormonal imbalances, pain, fatigue, anxiety, stress, and insomnia. Chinese herbs are effective healing agents, and most herbs have minimal side effects.
Chinese herbal formulas come in a variety of forms, including oils, extracts, resins, dry powder, tinctures, tablets, capsules, creams, and loose for tea brewing. All herbal products used are purchased from sources that test their products for purity, cleanliness, and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). Herbal formulas that I use are those selected from the Materia Medica for Chinese Herbs.
I was certified by the NCCAOM, (National Commission for Chinese And Oriental Medicine) in 2003. The NCCAOM is a national organization that regulates and certifies practitioners of Chinese Herbology.
Chinese herbs are used along with Acupuncture, to achieve optimal results, in accordance with my training at Traditional Acupuncture Institute, which has been renamed Maryland University of Integrative Health.
